custom projects
I would love to collaborate with you to bring your vision into the world. It’s one of my favourite things to do - working together with others to create something new to light up people’s lives.
I am currently taking on custom editorial projects for both print and digital; illustration for branding; and surface design projects (pattern collections or single illustrations).
my experience
Over the years I have worked on a variety of projects, both in teams and independently. Here are some highlights of projects I have worked on over the past 10 years…
Over the last 5 years I have worked on the award-winning preschool show Bluey as a Layout Artist (season 1), Production Manager (season 2) and Graphic Designer (for commercial and editorial products).
designed and animated explainer videos for local start-ups, large businesses, and Government organisations.
created collections of patterns for fabric and apparel
animated a collection of Teeny Tiny Stevies videos
illustrated and designed a 25-page comic, Lil Viking Space Rangers
illustrated collections of graphics and icons for an online course
the process
I will review your request once you submit your information about working with me on a custom project.
I may ask further questions to clarify your project, and then once I have all the information I need, I will provide you with a quote.
If the quote is accepted, I will provide you with a project timeline of expected delivery dates for various parts of the project and also an agreement so that we are on the same page about what is expected from both parties in working together.
Now the fun begins! To kick off the project, I like to begin with developing a mood inspiration board and detailed brief that we work through together to make sure that I understand the vision we are working towards. This is a highly collaborative and important step as we’re dreaming up all the possibilities and defining the look and feel of what we’re creating. The final product will be infused with this essence.
Once the overall mood and direction is finalised, I will move on to creating a range of concept sketches. They will be provided to you and we will work together to start nutting out the foundation of the creation.
When the concept sketches are finalised, I will move on to fleshing it out further - creating the rough sketches and then moving into the final detailed sketches that will be presented to you again for approval. Once again, we work together until we’re happy with the final sketch before moving on to final art.
Final art is the final piece of the puzzle - making the art come to life with colour and all the final pieces of the puzzle.
We work together to finesse the final art and once you’re happy with it I deliver it to you in digital and/or print-ready format as agreed upon in our initial brief.
Depending on the type and size of project, there may be some additional steps here and there - but this is the general process I work through for all of my projects. It’s highly collaborative and we work together the whole way through. Each stage has to be signed off before moving on to the next stage, leaving no surprises at the end.
If you have any other questions about how I work, just ask!
payment terms
My payment terms are 50% deposit before the project commences (once we’ve agreed on the project brief and are ready to start production) and 50% completion payment prior to delivering the final product.
For larger projects that are created over a longer period of time the payments will be made in installments as different parts of the project are delivered.
Specific payment dates and terms will be outlined in our agreement for each project.
