I had the pleasure of illustrating a 25-page graphic novel, aimed at kids 7-10yo, for local Meanjin author, Paul McLaughlin.
It was such an awesome project to work on - about two young sisters who use their magic and wits to solve mysteries across the galaxy.
Through this project I created the cast of characters, the environments where the the scenes would play out, page design, rough sketches for each panel (187 panels in total!), clean line drawings and the final art. I also designed the cover page.
We hosted a book launch at the local book shop, Where the Wild Things Are, with a group of 24 kids. It was so much fun meeting the little people who would be enjoying the book and inviting them into the land of comic creation.
The book is now available at a variety of book stores in Brisbane such as Where The Wild Things Are and Wildflowers & Reading Hours.

There are a couple more chapters to the series now for you to enjoy! Chapter 2 - Another World of Unsolved Puzzles was illustrated by the dear friends Sarah Rackemann and Trudi Monteath. I illustrated the cover.
Chapter 3 - Anxious Waters on an Unsettled Planet was illustrated by me and will be released 16th December 2024.
